About Thuk Thay

Thuk Thay (also spelled Tuk Tay or Took Tey) is a fun and fast-paced Laotian shedding card game that combines elements of strategy, luck, and psychological play. It's similar to games like President or Asshole, but with unique Laotian twists that make it highly interactive and competitive.

Game Rules & Mechanics

Players: 4–6 (best with 5–6)
Deck: Standard 52-card deck
Goal: Be the first to get rid of all your cards

Card Rankings

High to Low: 2 (highest) → A → K → Q → J → 10 → 9 → 8 → 7 → 6 → 5 → 4 → 3 (lowest)
Special Cards: 8s (Skip), 10s (Burn/Clear pile)

How to Play

Players take turns playing cards of equal or higher rank than the previous play. You can play single cards, pairs, or sets of the same rank. If you can't play, you must pass. The first player to empty their hand wins and becomes "Thuk Thay" (President), while the last player becomes "Tong" (Asshole).

Digital Implementation

This digital version focuses on the core shedding mechanics and strategic gameplay. While traditional features like "Bombs" (2s played out of turn) and some special moves weren't implemented, the game maintains the fast-paced, competitive spirit of the original.
